Quick reviews of other comics released this week (08/04/09)

Deadpool - Suicide Kings #1

Lots of fun, as Deadpool gets caught up in a rich mans son and his gambling habit. Rapid fire humour and non stop action, it is bloody and funny. Bloody funny, in fact. 8 out of 10.

Infinite Horizon #4

Welcome back. After a year away, it feels a bit disjointed now, though the trade will be a must. Great art, some interesting (and arresting) images, such as a seriously flooded Downtown New York. Tense and violent, this was (just about) worth waiting a year for. 7.5 out of 10.

Dark Reign Hawkeye #1

Andy Diggle & Tom Raney present a twisted WTF? as opposed to a What-If? as the anti-hero Hawkeye becomes the psychotic Bullseye-in-Hawkeyes costume in 'Dark Reign Hawkeye'. Bad to the bone, and in The Avengers (albeit the 'Dark' version), Bullseye shows no sign of relenting on hurting and killing ceaselessly. Diggle gives this Dark Reign title a sick sense of humour and deaths of civilians aplenty. Oh, and Ben Ulrich makes a nuisance of himself for Norman Osborn, who it seems, only wants to try and do his job to the best of his ability. O-kay.....
Pleasantly surprised by this one. 8.75 out of 10.
